The Singapore Grand Prix Circuit is located on the public roads of downtown Singapore in the Marina Bay area. It staged its first Formula One Grand Prix in 2008, becoming the first Formula One race to be run at night.

The circuit utilises public roads around the Marina Bay area, together with a permanent pit straight section incorporating permanent pit buildings adjacent the Bay and the Singapore Flyer.

Michael McDonough led a project team for the design, preparation and approval of the homologation dossier for the Formula 1 Street Circuit.

He was subsequently engaged by Singapore GP Pte Ltd to undertake the role of Director, Technical and Race Operations with overall responsibility for the planning, design, construction and race operations for the inaugural Formula 1 Grand Prix in 2008, and the following event in 2009.

“As Executive Director, I personally worked intensely with Michael on a daily basis to ensure timelines were met and best standards were achieved. His commitment, skills and knowledge proved invaluable and the cornerstones to this day were established on those first year principles and processes he established. I have every confidence in recommending Michael to similar challenging Motor sports projects.”
